Marino Vanhoenacker defends title at 2008 Antwerp Ironman 70.3, Belinda Granger outruns Felicity Hart, Kai Baumgartner reportsDefending Champion Marino Vanhoenacker from Belgium won the third edition of Antwerp Ironman 70.3 in 3:45:52 hours while, in the women's race, Australian Belinda Granger claimed the women's title in 4:12:55. In an exciting and dramatic race the 32-year-old Belgian from the Dresdner Kleinwort Triathlon Team won a duel with his countryman, Luc Van Lierde, on the run, while Granger also pulled away during the run to win.  Read the story »

World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) announces an addition to the 2006 Ironman 70.3 Series, the Antwerp Ironman 70.3. Known locally as the Marc Herremans Classic, the event will be managed by Octagon cis and the Marc Herremans Foundation and will take place in Antwerp, Belgium on July 2, 2006. The postponement of the Scandinavian Ironman 70.3 to 2007 created an immediate need for this new European qualifier. Read the story »

About the Race

Qualifier for Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3The Marc Herremans Classic is an Ironman 70.3 distance triathlon (2k swimming, 90k cycling, 20k running) where the elite of the triathlon world compete and where the revenue goes to "To Walk Again", the foundation of Marc Herremans.

The triathlon will be held on Sunday, 5 August, 2007, in the city centre of Antwerp. Everybody is free to enroll and register, the maximum number of participants is 800.
